On November 21, the Hillsboro R-3 Board of Education was honored to recognize an outstanding student from our district, Mariana Bullock, who has been selected as our nominee for the prestigious John T. Belcher MSBA Scholarship. Mariana’s academic and extracurricular achievements are truly exemplary.
With a remarkable GPA of 4.256, Mariana has consistently demonstrated her commitment to excellence. Since her sophomore year, she has been enrolled in our Dual Enrollment courses, where she has earned straight A’s and achieved a place on the Dean’s List at Jefferson College. Her academic prowess is further highlighted by her impressive ACT composite score of 33.
Beyond her academics, Mariana has made a significant impact through her leadership and involvement in our school community. She has been an active member of the volleyball team and served as co-captain this year. Mariana also co-leads the Interact Club as its Co-President and is a proud member of the National Honor Society.
Mariana’s passion for history and languages has inspired her career goal to become a translator, working with texts for a publishing company or museum. She plans to major in History and minor in Linguistics to bring this vision to life.
We are also pleased to recognize and congratulate her parents, Mark and Bianca Bullock. Their support has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in Mariana’s accomplishments.
Congratulations, Mariana, on this well-deserved honor, and best wishes for continued success in all that lies ahead.
